Churchill Theatre : ウィキペディア英語版 | Churchill Theatre
The Churchill Theatre in Bromley, southeast London was built by the London Borough of Bromley to designs by its borough architect's department. The Churchill is an example of a repertory theatre built in the style of European opera houses, with a large stage and sub-stage workshops. Integrated into the central library complex overlooking Church House Gardens and Library Gardens, it was built on the side of a hill, disguising the number and size of the lower levels and giving the impression of being smaller by setting the auditorium below ground level which is entered by descending staircases from the foyer. The theatre was opened on 19 July 1977 by HRH Prince of Wales, and seats 785. It is now run on a contract currently held by the Ambassador Theatre Group, acting as both a receiving and producing house, with many of its own productions transferring to the West End or touring nationally, such as recent tours of ''The Rocky Horror Picture Show'', ''Jekyll & Hyde: The Musical'', Bill Kenwright's ''Save the Last Dance for Me'', and ''Dreamboats and Petticoats''. It was also the home of the first two series of ''The Brian Conley Show'' before moving to The London Studios, and there is also an annual pantomime season. It was announced in June 2015 that the theatre will be taken over by HQ Theatres and Hospitalilty from March 31st 2016.
